Family therapy is a form of therapy that focuses on the improvement of relationships among family members. A family is a group of people who care about each other and can consist of many different combinations of loved ones including parents, children, siblings, grandparents, friends, caregivers and others.
Families attend therapy for many different reasons, including conflict between family members, trauma, divorce, death, communication difficulties, anger and substance abuse.
In this setting, family members will meet with a trained therapist to assist the family to address and make healthy changes within the family system.
